My job is to make sure that working families like yours and mine have an effective voice at the Legislature.
As a freshman representative, I approached my first session with safer communities, mental health and consumer protection as my priorities. I successfully passed five pieces of legislation, including a bill to protect consumers from off-shore predatory lenders and another giving prosecutors the ability to better evaluate and classify sex predators. I also passed a bill to determine how those with mental illness are being treated in our public institutions.
My experience has shown me that the values and voices of ordinary Montanans need to be better represented at the Legislature. My family faces the same challenges as other working families in Montana. My husband and I know first hand how difficult it can be to juggle paying for childcare, a mortgage, school loans, and medical bills. I believe that this perspective is critical to passing effective legislation in Montana.
As your representative, I will continue to bring your stories and concerns to the Capitol. I will continue to be a strong advocate for the issues that matter to our community, and will always work with your interests in mind.
As your legislator, I will continue to advocate for:
